Robotics and FMS Lab

Mechanical Engineering dept. of  GLA University has set up Robotic and FMS lab setup in order to train students in Advanced Automated Manufacturing and produce highly skilled technical manpower in the field of Industrial Robotics. The trained manpower will help Indian Manufacturing Industry to adopt latest technologies to improve quality and work.

The goal of robotics and FMS lab is to operate intelligent machines that can help and assist humans in their day-to-day lives and keep everyone safe.

As part of a rigorous robotics and FMS lab curriculum at GLA University, we have developed and implemented open-ended design and construction lab experiences. In the long term, we want to develop similar lab-like experiences where students design and build artifacts to complement conventional science and mathematics education. Fortunately, because of its flexibility, robotics education provides an ideal setting for testing new educational approaches. Unlike traditional fields, robotics is still emerging. In this lab course component, teams of students could define and carry out an independent project.

  • The centre is equipped with standard training cell comprising of six axes Aristo Industrial Robot with required auxiliary equipment.
  • This lab is capable of performing multitude of operations used by the automobile, and other manufacturing/Production industries.
  • This lab provides realistic, theoretical and practical training on SIEMENS Flexible Manufacturing System to learn and utilize the latest automation technology while applying Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
  • Robotics and FMS lab will be the milestone in the field of technical education. If the students can practice on industrial robot which he/she going to handle after joining the industry naturally the candidate becomes industry ready.
