Career Prospect

  • Most of the jobs in Civil Engineering field are in construction of buildings and infrastructure. Infrastructural jobs mostly come from public sector. About one third of Civil Engineers are placed in the area of infrastructure and about one eighth are placed each in real estate and consultancy areas. Currently, Govt of India is investing Crores of rupees in infrastructure sector like-Roads, Bridges, Railroads, Railways Stations, Airports and in agricultural sector like-Organic farming, Barren Land Reclamation, Water Resource and Water Harvesting structures, in power sector and transmission lines, in drinking water and sanitation, and in public office buildings and Smart Cities etc. This step of the government is creating millions of jobs for Civil Engineers.

  • Eligibility

    • Candidates for admission to the Ph.D program shall have 55% marks in Master's degree for the admission in Applied Science & Humanities (Biotechnology, Applied Physics, Applied Chemistry, Applied Mathematics, English), Law, Management and Education. • However, 60% marks in Master's degree remaining Courses (Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering & Application, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Pharmaceutical Sciences).

      • The applicant will have to qualify the Ph.D. entrance test conducted by the University or central bodies such as UGC /CSIR etc. The qualified applicant will be interviewed by the respective departmental research committee.
