B. Tech in Electrical Engineering involves the in-depth study of electricity, electronics, and electromagnetism, from a microscopic computer component to large-scale power networks. However, the study of electrical engineering has broadened with an extensive range of subfields, encompassing power engineering, control systems, radio-frequency engineering, instrumentation, etc.
The course deals with the entire concept of electrical engineering. Students will develop competence in Electrical Machines, Power Systems, Control Systems, Power Electronics & Drives and High Voltage Engineering. Furthermore, it enables the students to take up a professional career and higher studies in the above areas.
The course curriculum is based on the Choice-based Credit Scheme (CBCS), updated regularly in consultation with industry professionals, alumni, and persons from reputed academic institutions to make the students competent enough for industry and higher studies. In addition, GLA has adopted innovative practices like mini-project associated with lab and theory courses, continuous evaluation, industrial visits, online quizzes, colloquium, guest lectures by industry experts, alumni, faculty from reputed institutions, etc.
