  • Department of Mathematics

Since its inception in 2010, the Department of Mathematics has been contributing to the growth of Institute of Applied Sciences and Humanities, GLA University. We offer courses to different programs of the University but in addition to that, now from the session 2020-21, we are opening a Masters’ programme in Mathematics [M. Sc. (Mathematics)] with special focus on data analytics. We are a strong mix of 21 experienced and well-qualified faculty members with 2 Professors, 3 Associate Professors and 16 Assistant Professors who are catering to the demand of highest standards in academics.

Our long-awaited Masters’ course M Sc (Mathematics) is important to job-seekers because the demand of skilled data analysts is immense in the world but the supply of committed and talented professionals is limited. Data analysts command huge salaries and excellent perks, even at the entry level. Keeping abreast with the latest research trends, the department has been offering Ph D program as well since 2011-12.

The Department of Mathematics organizes conferences, workshops, FDP and guest lectures at regular intervals for the benefit of scholars and teachers. The department owns a Pi-Maths club which conducts various academic activities round the year to develop creativity, sharpen mathematical abilities and inculcate a sense of social responsibility in students.
