A team comprising Prof. (Dr.) Avinash Dadhich, Director, Centre for Competition Law & Policy (CCLP) and Nidhi Singh, Deputy Director, CCLP participated in the United Nations Internet Governance Forum (UNIGF), held at Katowice from December 4-10th, 2021. The team participated in various panels covering a range of issues on internet governance, regulation, data privacy, artificial intelligence, mergers & acquisitions and competition issues. The Centre for Competition Law & Policy (CCLP) also presented their work on ‘Privacy issues in mergers and acquisitions while dealing within the domain of Competition law’. The session focused on how digital environment as such has brought a drastic regulatory and legal transformation that require competition authorities to sharpen their vision during procedures such as merger analysis because of the kind of access tech companies have to data/personal information and trade secrets.
