Contribution to Science

  • Postdoctoral Career:
My post doctoral work was focused on vaccine development against HEV, In brief we have develop virus like particle using recombinant truncated ORF-2 protein of Hepatitis E virus, which encodes multi-epitope regions that may provide protective efficacy against HEV and could be a vaccine candidate. We have used yeast (P.pastoris) and bacterial ( E.coli) expression system for VLP production. In another project, I analysed the mechanism of Zinc underlying the inhibiting the replication of HEV and our investigation showed that zinc nanoparticles inhibit the replication of HEV and HCV and may use as a therapeutic candidate against RNA virus. Currently, I am also involved in a project of vaccine development against SARS-cov2 in which we are developing different formulations and evaluating the efficacy of vaccine formulations.
  • Graduate Career:My graduate research contributions were focused on DNA vaccination against lymphatic filariasis. Results from my research were highly relevant as they provided that heterologous DNA prime protein boost vaccination is a effective method of vaccination which could enhance more host immune response as compared to only protein and homologous DNA vaccination and further studies also showed that use of CpG adjuvant with DNA vaccination may also contribute to provide immunity against LF.
