Summary
For the first time GLA University, Mathura organized the INSPIRE (Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research) Internship Science Camp sponsored by Department of Science & Technology, New Delhi from December, 30th 2019 to January 3rd , 2020. The aim of the programme, was to encourage the brilliant young minds to take up basic sciences and technology, and R&D as a career. The bar for eligibility for the students to participate was fairly high, in that only those students who have secured more than 96.8 percent marks in ICSE or 95% in CBSE or 76.8percent marks in UP Board in 10th class were eligible to participate. The highlight of this INSPIRE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME was the participation of all the premier schools of Matura, Agra, Tudla, Firozabad, Aligarh, Varanasi, Moradabad, Amroha, Chandausi, Sambhal districts of UP. Around 300 students applied for this camp. 150 students from 30 schools were selected and participated in the program. The science teachers from various schools have also participated in this INSPIRE Science Camp along with their students. Science camp was residential in nature. Stay arrangement was made in boys and girls hostel in the GLA University campus itself.
