Department of Chemistry under academic MoU with Jadavpur University Kolkata organizes a guest lecture (online) on “Preparation characterization of nanoparticles and their potential application” on 13th February 2021 during 7-9pm.

About the guest lecture

A nanoparticle or ultrafine particle is usually defined as a particle of matter that is between 1 and 100 nanometers (nm) in diameter. Researchers all over the world are interested in synthesis and characterization of these nanoparticles due to their versatile explicabilities like In the biomedical applications, nanoparticles are used for example for antimicrobial applications, biosensing, imaging, and drug delivery and; while for environmental applications, nanoparticles are used for bioremediation of diverse contaminants, water treatment, and production of clean energy.

Present lecture will be useful for post graduate, research scholars and faculty members of the various departments.

Our guest speaker Prof Parimal Karmakar is very renowned person in this area. He is presently working as senior professor at the department of life sciences and biotechniology, Jadavpur University, Kolkata
