Padma Vibhushan Dr. Anil Kakodkar
Nuclear Scientist Ex-Chairman, Atomic Energy Commission of India (Year - 2014)
Dr Anil Kakodkar is a distinguished nuclear scientist who has contributed significantly to India’s nuclear energy program. His leadership at Bhabha Atomic Research Center and Atomic Energy Commission has been in support of indigenous nuclear technology and scientific progress. GLA University has conferred D.Sc. (honoris causa) on him in recognition of his remarkable accomplishments at its Third Convocation on 6 November 2014.
Prof Ranbir Singh
Academic Leader, Legal Expert (Year - 2015)
Prof. Ranbir Singh is a distinguished legal scholar noted for his contribution to legal education and institution building in India. His academic leadership and engagement with national law universities have helped promote legal scholarship and professional learning. He was given the degree of D. Litt. (honorary) by GLA University at its Fourth Convocation on 22 December 2015 in recognition of his significant contribution to education.
Padma Shri Prof. Sanjay Govind Dhande
Engineer & Educationist Ex Director, IIT Kanpur (Year - 2016)
Prof. Sanjay Govind Dhande is a famous engineer and educationist with a career that blends technical research with academic leadership. His contributions in design engineering and as Director of IIT Kanpur helped to promote engineering education and research. GLA University honoured his contributions and awarded him the honorary degree of D.Sc. at its Fifth Convocation held on 26 November 2016.

Aerospace Scientist Founder CEO of BrahMos Aerospace (Year - 2017)
Prof. A. Sivathanu Pillai is a notable aerospace scientist linked with important advancements in India’s guided-missile technology. His contribution in defence research and his leadership at BrahMos Aerospace, strengthened indigenisation in technology. GLA University conferred the honorary degree of D.Sc. on him at its Sixth Convocation held on 1 November 2017 in recognition of his contribution to the discipline of aerospace science and national development.
Dr. V. G. Sekaran
Defence Scientist (Year - 2018)
Dr. V. G. Sekaran is a renowned figure in the discipline of military science, where research and technical innovation are key to enhancing national capabilities. He has been included among the recipients of the Honoris Causa for his connection to scientific and technological progress. He was given the Honorary Degree of D.Sc. by GLA University in its Seventh Convocation on 9th December, 2018.
Padma Bhushan Dr. Vijay P. Bhatkar
Computer Scientist Father of India’s PARAM Supercomputer Series (Year - 2018)
Dr Vijay P Bhatkar is a pioneer computer scientist, well known for directing the construction of PARAM family of supercomputers. His accomplishment marked a significant milestone in the journey of high performance computing in India and showcased the potential of indigenous technical innovation. His contributions to computing and science were acknowledged by GLA University by awarding him the honorary degree of D.Sc. at its Seventh Convocation held on 9 December 2018.
Prof. Md. Hafizur Rahaman

Prof. Md. Hafizur Rahaman is one of the notable Honoris Causa awardees in the convocation history of GLA University. The election is the university’s celebration of people linked with professional and academic accomplishment. He has been awarded honorary degree of D.Sc. by GLA University at its Eighth Convocation on 15 December 2019.
Dr. Omkar Rai
Technologies and Innovation Leader | Former Director General, Software Technology Parks of India (Year - 2019)
Dr. Omkar Rai has played an important role in the evolution of India’s information technology and entrepreneurial ecosystem. He promoted activities on software exports, technological development and startups when he was Director General of Software technological Parks of India. He was awarded the honorary degree of D.Sc. by GLA University on the occasion of the Eighth Convocation on 15 December 2019 for his contributions to the digital and innovation sector.
Shri Suhas Lalinakere Yathiraj
Indian Administrative Service Officer Paralympic Badminton Player (Year - 2021)
Shri Suhas Lalinakere Yathiraj is an icon of greatness in public service and international sport. He is an officer of the Indian Administrative Service. He won a silver medal in badminton at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games and has shown exemplary discipline and determination. In recognition of his achievements, GLA University awarded him the honorary degree of D.Sc. in the Tenth Convocation held on 19 December 2021.

Education Entrepreneur Founder, Aakash Educational Services Limited (Year - 2023)
Shri J. C. Chaudhry has played a key part in transforming the test preparation industry in India through his entrepreneurial activity in education and his founding of Aakash Educational Services Limited. His career has been around helping the students to prepare for competitive examinations with proper academic advice. He has been awarded the honorary degree of D.Sc. by GLA University for his dedication to education at its Eleventh Convocation held on 6 February 2023.

Suma Varughese is an accomplished writer, editor and journalist who writes on personal improvement, mindful living and human values. Through her writing and editorial leadership, she has inspired readers to focus on wellbeing, purpose and self-awareness. GLA University awarded her the honorary degree of D.Sc. for her commitment to writing and public discourse at its Twelfth Convocation on 17 December 2023.
Dr. Ajit Kumar Mohanty
Nuclear physicist Chairman, Atomic Energy Commission of India (Year - 2023)
Dr. Ajit Kumar Mohanty is a well known nuclear physicist. His research interest is in nuclear processes and experimental physics. He has held key scientific posts including Director of Bhabha Atomic Research Center, and has played an essential role in India’s scientific research and nuclear energy management. His scientific talents were acknowledged by bestowing the honorary degree of D.Sc. by GLA University at its Twelfth Convocation on 17 December 2023.
Mr. Dinesh Kumar Shukla
Chairman, Atomic Energy Regulatory Board Nuclear Safety Expert (Year - 2024)
Shri Dinesh Kumar Shukla is a reputed specialist in nuclear safety having professional experience in Bhabha Atomic Research Center and Atomic Energy Regulatory Board. His work shows a devotion to nuclear technology, regulatory monitoring and safety practices. In recognition of his professional achievements, GLA University conferred him the honorary degree of D.Sc. in its Thirteenth Convocation held on December 17, 2024.

Physicist and Teacher Former Professor of Physics, IIT Kanpur (Year - 2025)
Prof. Harish Chandra Verma is much recognised for making physics easy and interesting for the students. His famous textbook Concepts of Physics has been very effective in building a strong foundation of basic concepts and preparing generations of learners for competitive tests. His commitment to science education was recognised by GLA University which conferred on him the honorary degree of D.Sc. at its Fourteenth Convocation held on 3 December 2025.
