Institutional Social Responsibility

Prayaas

Prayaas

Prayaas is where care turns into action. Launched in 2014, this heartfelt initiative by GLA University was created with one simple purpose: to uplift young minds and the teachers who guide them.

Through health awareness drives, motivational talks and meaningful educational support, Prayaas reaches schools and communities that need encouragement the most. It is not just about sessions and workshops. It is about building confidence. It is about helping a child believe they can do more.

Every activity reflects GLA’s larger promise to society. When schools grow stronger, communities grow stronger. And through Prayaas, that promise is lived every single day.

National Service Scheme Cell

At GLA University, education does not stop at the classroom door. The National Service Scheme Cell turns learning into responsibility.

Led by the Department of Education, students actively raise awareness on issues such as child abuse, illiteracy, alcoholism, and corruption. Through workshops, campaigns, and open conversations, they step into real-world challenges with courage and clarity. The goal is not just awareness. It is transformation. Students learn to listen, to empathise, and to act.

The NSS Cell shapes socially conscious leaders who understand that success means little if society does not progress alongside it.

Udaan

Udaan began in 2012 when a group of GLA University students decided to teach underprivileged children living near the campus. What started as a small effort soon grew into a registered organisation in 2016.

Today, Udaan stands as a strong student-led movement working towards education, social awareness and community upliftment.

Udaan

Our Vision

We envision ourselves as a pace-setting university of Academic Excellence focused on education, research, and development in established and emerging professions.

Our Mission

To provide basic education to underprivileged communities while spreading awareness on child labour, women empowerment, environmental safety, and cleanliness. Udaan also promotes skill development and village-level entrepreneurship to encourage self-reliance.

Objectives

Udaan aims to expand its reach across more villages, educate thousands of students, improve literacy levels, and build a strong network of dedicated volunteers. Growth is structured, consistent, and community-driven.

Our Approach

Rooted in human values, Udaan believes in teamwork, inclusivity, and accountability. It is non-political, non-religious, and powered by a volunteer spirit. The focus is not just on teaching, but on shaping confident, responsible individuals.

Cultural Engagement

Through events like Udbhava, Children’s Day celebrations, Sankalan, and festive gatherings, Udaan brings volunteers and communities together, strengthening bonds while spreading the spirit of service. Udaan reflects the heart of GLA University. When students choose to act, change follows.

Shiksha Kaya Kalp

Shiksha Kaya Kalp

Through Shiksha Kaya Kalp, GLA University extends its academic strength beyond campus walls.

The University has adopted five government schools in nearby rural areas to support academic progress and holistic development. Faculty members and students mentor learners, enhance teaching practices and provide structured academic support. The focus is on improving both learning outcomes and confidence levels.

Shiksha Kaya Kalp reflects GLA’s belief that quality education must reach every child. Because real institutions do not just grow within boundaries. They uplift entire communities.

Ujjwal Braj

Ujjwal Braj represents the spirit of responsible youth. Since 2015, students of GLA University have led cleanliness drives around Goverdhan Hill and the sacred Goverdhan Parikrama Marg.

Driven by passion and civic pride, they work consistently to maintain and beautify these important sites. Each drive is a reminder that change begins with action.

Ujjwal Braj does more than clean spaces. It inspires environmental awareness and community ownership. It stands as a shining example of how young leaders can protect heritage while building a sustainable future.

Aashayein – A Spectrum of Hope

Aashayein, the social wing of the ABACUS Society under the Department of Computer Science and Applications at GLA University, transforms technical talent into social impact.

The initiative organises education camps, distribution drives, tree plantation campaigns, anti-polythene awareness programmes, and visits to old age homes. Each activity is thoughtfully planned to support marginalised communities. The belief is simple. Education empowers individuals to earn, to understand their rights, and to live with dignity. Through Aashayein, students prove that knowledge becomes truly powerful when it serves society.

Heritage Conservation

Heritage Conservation

GLA University believes progress must respect history.

To preserve the cultural legacy of the region, the University has adopted Raskhan and Tajbibi Samadhi in Gokul, Kusum Sarovar in Goverdhan, Brahma Kund in Vrindavan, and Ramtal in Vrindavan.

By supporting their upkeep and management, GLA contributes to protecting spaces of deep historical and spiritual value. These efforts reflect a larger vision. Education is not only about shaping the future. It is also about honouring the past. Through heritage conservation, GLA University safeguards culture while inspiring generations ahead.
