Pharmaceutical Analysis Lab

The quality of the pharmaceutical product in any pharma industry depends entirely on Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) departments to ensure their products are safe and effective for consumers. So a skilled person in the analytical field has a lot of scope in the pharma industry. The pharmaceutical analysis lab has been structured to prepare students experienced and knowledgeable as per the need of the pharma industry. This lab is operational with glassware used in practicals like a volumetric flask, volumetric pipette, burette, measuring cylinder, beakers, conical flask, iodine flask, graduated pipette, etc. There is a balance room attached with lab, in which 20 analytical balances are placed for weighing volumetric reagents. This lab familiarizes the student with basic analysis methods and GLPs (Good Laboratory Practices). Qualitative, quantitative & semi-quantitative estimation of chemicals/drugs is done in regular practicals. Different types of titrations are performed in weekly practicals through which students learn how to check the purity of compounds by comparing them with standard compounds. They learn about different types of errors while performing the practicals and inculcate the habit of doing practicals with minimum human errors. Students learn about precision and accuracy.
