ASME GLAU 8.0 Orientation Programme

Department of ME under the aegis of ASME organized the fun and knowledge filled Orientation programme of ASME GLAU 8.0 , in which new students from various streams came to know about the work culture of ASME, it was also amalgamated with many fun activities and knowledge gaining chit chats. Mr Gaurav Pant addressed the students. Mr Hradayansh Parashari, Ms Nidhi Kulshreshtha and team coordinated the event. In the event, Identify the logo, Ad Mad, Quiz and much more activities were filled with free gifts.

GIT and GIThub Workshop

Department of ME under the roof of ASME organized an online Workshop on GIT and GitHub , in which students from various disciplines like ME, CSE, EE, ECE took part and got to learn about open source software and its utilization. Mr Prashant Kumar and Mr Utkarsh Ojha, B. Tech, CSE explained the open-source technology from scratch.

Impetus 6.0

Department of ME under the roof of ASME organized a Coding workshop cum quiz contest under IMPETUS 6.0, in which students from various disciplines like ME, CSE, EE, ECE took part and got to learn the fundamentals and implementation of coding. The winners were also awarded with certificates. Mr Harsh Shukla, Mr Ayush Rajput won the quiz contest.

NEXUS

ASME GLAU under the aegis of Department of Mechanical Engineering organized an annual technofest, “NEXUS 3.0” in association with SAE GLAU.

ASME GLAU has reached its 5th year of prominence since it was underlaid in our institution. This technofest notably focusses on skill development along with fun, of the participant which students must inculcate during the learning process. The students from different courses and disciplines took part in the extravaganza. Dr Debanik Roy, Scientist, BARC judged the events in the Fest and motivated the team.

Pneumatics

Department of ME under the aegis of ASME GLAU organized a 1 Day workshop cum quiz contest on Pneumatics and its application in Industrial Automation, in which students from various disciplines like ME, CSE, EE, ECE took part and got to learn the Pneumatics Technology. Dr Bharat Singh explained the minute details of Pneumatics to the students.

Workshop on Data Science and Machine Learning

Department of ME under the roof of ASME organized a workshop on the burning topic of Data Science and Machine Learning, in which students from various disciplines like ME, CSE, EE, ECE took part and got to learn the science of Data handling, big data altogether with the concoction of Machine learning. The winners were also awarded with certificates.

Emerging Trends in Automotive Technology

SAE GLAU under the aegis of Department of Mechanical Engineering organized Workshop on Emerging Trends in Automotive Technology, in which students from B.Tech, Diploma and BBA of various disciplines took part and quenched their thirst for automotive knowledge, Mr Sarthak Shukla, B.Tech ME 3rd year(Secretary, SAE) acted as a resource person. Participants learnt and understood about the working of engine, transmission, suspension, Catalytic converter, 4*4 etc. for different kind of automobiles.

ESI 2018

The team of Students Meth Burners 2.0 took part in ESI 2018 at Pune where they showcased and run their Indigenous vehicle in a typical terrain. It was a thrilling experience for students as they competed with IITians and NITians also. Participants learnt and understood about the design and working of an ATV, they got to know the manufacturing processes like: bending, welding, drawing etc, also learnt about cost management of All Terrain Vehicle. Faiz Ali, Suyash Tyagi, Akshat Srivastava and Team participated in the event.

Online Guest lecture on Introduction to Automotive Systems

Department of Mechanical Engineering organized a 2 days guest lecture series on Automotive Systems specifically for B.Tech Hons students. In this the resource person was Mr Nitin Kukreja ( Mamsys Consultancy Ltd, MS, France). Students got an insight towards latest technologies like Automatic Transmission, Torque converter, CVT, Epicyclic Gear train etc. 30 Students participated in the guest lectures.

SAE BAJA Virtuals 2019

We are having SAE Collegiate club running in GLA University, which continuously encourages the students to have zeal to do something significant in the field of automotives. The students take part in events like: SAE BAJA, ATV events, exhibitions etc under the roof of SAE Collegiate club. The faculty mentors closely motivate and promote the students to bring their creativity out of their brain to the workshop. In the same league our Team of SAE Students participated in SAE BAJA 2019 Virtuals during July 2019 at Chitkara University, Chandigarh and got appreciations from National and International panels over there. The team included Syed Faiz Ali, Akshat Srivastava, Suyash Tyagi, Mr Gaurav Pant (Faculty Mentor). Participants explained about the design of engine, transmission, suspension, Catalytic converter for their self-built ATV to the expert panel.

In this event, awareness related to automotives is spread and students are motivated by various speakers. Each year, the number of members is increasing as a result. At times Alumnis are also invited to grace such events. In this event, Mr. Kislay Kumar Singh, working with ELGI, an MNC, was with us to motivate the students. He made the students aware with the latest technologies related to automobiles in the industries contemporarily. Dr Piyush Singhal (HOD) and Mr. Gaurav Pant addressed the students and motivated to do novelty in automotive field.

SAE Workshop on Engine Overhauling

In this event, total dismantling of an automobile engine is done and functionality of each and every minute parts is explained to the young minds by experts, and finally assembling is done to bring the engine again in working state. It’s a total hands-on experience event. Students get to learn in the best manner, i.e., pragmatically. The participants understood the complete working of an engine and how the power is transmitted from engine to the road wheels. Mr. Ritesh Dixit (Technical Manager) demonstrated the various parts and subassemblies of the automobile engine.

SAE World inside Engine

Students are taught all theory regarding working of engine via animations and presentations by students itself and afterwards, hands on experience is done in CAR, Finally a quiz is organized to gauge their knowledge and winners are felicitated. Participants got to know about 4 strokes of a 4 stroke engine and comparison of a 2 stroke and 4 stroke engine. It was coordinated and managed by Mr Raghavendra Uttam and Mr Pranay Pushp. B.Tech, ME.
