Computer Lab

Computer lab has 60 computers, equipped with modern softwares, along with a round-the-clock internet facility. Much computer-assisted learning software is installed on the laptop simulating animal experiments. This software can be used to display the effect of chemicals/drugs on different animal systems. The package is highly interactive, user-friendly, and full of animated sequences, making the simulation realistic. The Experimental Pharmacology (Ex-Pharm) Series Software consists of many computer-simulated experiments like the effect of drugs on isolated frog heart, blood pressure and heart rate of dog, the impact of physostigmine and atropine on DRC of acetylcholine using frog rectus abdominis muscle and rat ileum respectively. Different bioassays can be performed, like histamine using guinea pig ileum, oxytocin using rat uterine horn, serotonin using rat fundus strip, and acetylcholine using rat ileum/colon. Anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and other activity of drugs can be performed in the computer lab without using live animals.
