Herbal Garden

A valuable source of therapeutic medicines used in primary healthcare is herbal gardens. With more than 80 species of significant medicinal and aromatic plants, the Institute of Pharmaceutical Research at GLA University in Mathura has the advantage of maintaining an herbal garden on its grounds. The garden is a part of the pharmacy block and is an important teaching and research tool. Its main objective is to conduct experimental work and preserve and promote the medicinal values of the plants that grow primarily wild in our environment and whose properties are helpful in maintaining a balance between nature and human beings. Most herbs with medicinal and aromatic characteristics can be found in an herbal garden. Due to the rising need for herbal products to treat various diseases, medicinal and aromatic plants are becoming increasingly economically significant. The creation of an herbal garden has many benefits, including immediate access to a fresh, natural resource for therapeutic compounds.

The Institute of Pharmaceutical Research built an herbal garden where more than 50 commercially significant medicinal plants have been imported from various regions of Northern India for cultivation and propagation, considering the relevance of herbal gardens.
