Advanced Composite lab is developed with a view to make available materials preparation and micromachining facilities under one-roof. These state-of-art research facilities are regularly upgraded and maintained by suitably trained competent staff. The lab is ready to serve the needs of the materials community from the institute as well as other academic and industrial establishments. The laboratory consists of Probe Sonicator, Bath Sonicator, Desiccators, Vacuum Oven, Magnetic Stirrer and weighing scale which are extensively used in the development of advanced materials like composites and Nano-composites. Electro discharge machining (EDM) facilities are also available for performing micromachining on the developed conventional materials as well as Nano-composites.
The lab is also equipped with Flat-plate solar collector and Plate heat exchanger used to analyze heat transfer and pressure drop characteristics of nano-fluids for both cooling and heating. This equipment are used in various heat transfer applications of nano-fluids like solar collector, water heating and cooling, engine radiator etc. The lab is also facilitates for PhD, M.Tech and B.Tech students to pursue their Thesis/Project work. We are determined in providing consultancy and machining services of global standard to the material and manufacturing scientists.
