Department of Biotechnology has started the facility for rapid and specific diagnosis of mycobacterium avium subspecies paratuberculosis causing Johne’s disease in cow, buffalo and goat and Crohn’s disease in humans. Department is well equipped with the facilities for differential IS900 PCR, visual LAMP PCR, Taqman probe qPCR, ‘Indigenous ELISA kits’, Dot-ELISA, Fluorescent Antibody test (FAT), Latex Agglutination test (LAT), Nano-immuno rapid test. Research scholars are getting hands on training in preparing the HEYM medium, ‘Indigenous ELISA kits’, LAT, FAT and Dot ELISA kits for ParaTB diagnosis. Nominal charges for paraTB diagnosis are applied.
