Mathura, Uttar Pradesh

The pious city of Mathura is situated at a distance of 140 km south-east of Delhi and 55 km north-west of Agra. This sanctimonious abode of amalgamating cultures, better known as Mathura, is the epicenter of Braj Bhoomi. The city is spread over an area of approx. 3,800 sq. km. This is the land where incarnation of the Karma Yogi, Shri Krishna took place. Today, Mathura has spread its wings beyond its formative years and is surrounded by numerous diminutive towns and hamlets. The entire vicinity thrives with the reverberations of this deity and still redolent with the music of his flute. The twin city of Mathura, Vrindavan is equally enchanting and encaptivating, made famous by the world renowned landmarks like ISKCON, Akshya Patra and Bankey Bihari Ji Temple. There is Goverdhan, the majestic place known for the imposing Goverdhan Mountain. A cultural amalgamation center, Mathura has always been strategic in the history on the virtue of being at the crossroad of various trade routes. Agra, the city of the Taj Mahal, which is just 55 kms from Mathura. In all, the city is worth a visit and it is difficult not to reminisce the time spent here, such is the charm of the land of Lord Krishna.
