Some of the Important R & D Activities

  • Steady state gamma radiolysis & photolysis and pulse radiolysis & flash photolysis to understand the mechanism of polymerization process.
  • Chemical and radiolytic synthesis of metal & semiconductor NPs, super adsorbent hydrogels and deuterated polymers.
  • Study of radiation and photochemistry of metallo-porphyrins.
  • Radiation-induced polymerization, copolymerization, grafting and cross-linking (to form hydrogels).
  • Radiolytic reduction and oxidation processes in DMSO medium.
  • Radiation effects on polymers, liquid extractants and polymer-extractant composites.
  • Development of extractant/sorbent-encapsulated porous polymeric composites for separation of toxic and precious metals.
  • Development of high temperature radiation-resistant paint formulations.
  • Synthesis of glycopolymeric hydrogels for applications such as controlled drug delivery, bio-sensing and antibacterial activities.
  • Development of plastic scintillator detectors.
  • Synthesis of polymeric targets containing high Z metal NPs and polymer-metal layered targets for high power laser ablated micro foil impactor and shock pressure multiplication applications.
