The National Conference on Advancement of Technologies conducted by the Department of Computer Engineering and Applications, GLA University, every year, has been one of such efforts. With Communication Networks, Soft Computing, and Information Technology and Energy Management being the themes for the last three editions, respectively, the conference has been providing a platform for researchers, engineers, developers and the practitioners from academia and industry to exchange their views and experiences. The theme for ISCON—2012 is “Information Systems and Computer Networks”.
THEME
The term “Information Systems” is frequently used to refer to the interaction between people, processes, data, and technology. This includes acquisition, storage, retrieval and optimal use of information for problem solving and decision making. It also involves understanding evolving technology and relationships and standards by which this information can be managed. Along with managing information, it is also very essential to disseminate information. This is where Computer Networks play a very important role – they provide connectivity & sharing.
